Pune : PCMC offers financial assistance to start vaccine production at Hindustan Antibiotics Ltd

Pune : PCMC area is facing a huge shortage of vaccines. Earlier, MP Shrirang Barne, MLA Mahesh Landge, former MLA Vilas Lande, Mayor Usha Dhore and corporator Sandeep Waghere had demanded that if the vaccine will be produced in the HAL it will help to overcome the shortage of Covid vaccine.

Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil said, “If the Central government gives permission, we will help Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL) company to produce vaccines against Coronavirus disease (COVID19). We are ready to provide financial assistance. However, it has been asked to make an agreement, but the vaccine should be made available to the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad as a priority.”

MP Shrirang Barne said, “HAL has sought permission from the Central Government to manufacture the Covid vaccine. We have taken this issue to the Union Ministry of Health.”
