PIMPRI/PUNE: NpNews24 Online – Pune News | Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey has decided to take stern action against police personnel who come late to office. Some police personnel have been issued a show cause notice. The aggressive stance adopted by the police chief has sent shivers down the spine of police personnel who come late to the office. On July 20, Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey came to the commissionerate at 10 am. He saw that some police personnel were moving about leisurely and Choubey was angered by this. (Pune News)
After he came to the office, he realised that no official was in his place. When he enquired, he came to know that some personnel were coming late to the office every day. Choubey, who was upset, asked ACP Bhaskar Dere to check the arrival timings of each personnel. Accordingly, Dere went to each section and started noting the timings. It came to light that many personnel were coming to the office after 11 am. Some habitual late comers have been issued a show cause notice.
Some habitual late comers have been issued show cause notice on August 2 from the police commissionerate. They have been told to submit a written answer within seven days. If a valid reason is received within the seven days, it will taken into consideration before a final decision is taken.
The police personnel have been blamed for being negligent towards their work for remaining absent without permission. The notice states that the personnel have violated Rule 3 of Maharashtra Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1981 and behaved in an irresponsible manner. The notice also states that action will be taken against them under section 25 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 and some provisions under Maharashtra Police (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
ACP (Administration), Pimpri Chinchwad Police, Bhaskar Dere said, “All police personnel have been instructed to come to office on time as per orders issued by Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey. Some late comers have been issued notices.”
