Pune News | MLA Siddharth Shirole Proposes Tree Plantation to Cleanse Mula-Mutha River

Pune: Pune News | Siddharth Shirole, the MLA from Shivajinagar Constituency in Pune, participated in a discussion on the Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Protection and Preservation of Trees Bill, 2023, Bill No. 32, during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly session on July 28.

After the session, Shirole took to Twitter to share his ideas on environmental conservation. He highlighted the ongoing Mula-Mutha river pollution abatement JICA project in Pune and its steady progress. To further enhance the environmental impact, he proposed the simultaneous plantation of a large number of trees along the riverbanks.

In his tweet, Shirole suggested integrating the JICA project with the Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s ambitious 50 crore tree plantation project. He believes that this combined effort can create an efficient green filter to purify the polluted Mula-Mutha rivers and counteract other pollutants.

By planting trees along the riverbanks, the initiative aims to improve weather conditions, enhance cleanliness, and maintain a healthier environment in the vicinity of the river.
