PUNE : Pune News |  The Bengaluru Smashers team is working hard to make a mark in the Indian Oil Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 4. The team unveiled its jersey today in Pune and the tournament is going to begin from July 13. Along with the team’s owner Punit Balan, India’s star player Manika Batra, coach Sachin Shetty (India), Vesta Ojastertek (Slovenia) and the entire Bengaluru Smashers team was present at the programme.

 

Welcoming the entire team, Punit Balan Group Chairman and Managing Director Punit Balan said, “We have got an opportunity to support table tennis and take it to another level as we are part of UTT. It has always been our perspective to support Indian sports and sportspersons by contributing to their journey and help them to realise their dreams and win Olympic and other medals. Indian Oil UTT and Bengaluru Smashers will motivate sports lovers not only in Bengaluru but all over the country. I am confident that Bengaluru Smashers will put up a good show in the tournament.”

 

“India’s top player and Khel Ratna awardee Manika Batra, one of the popular players in Kazakhstan and Olympian Kirill Gerassimenceo, Olympian and winner of bronze medal in European team games Natalia Bajor of Poland and experienced Sanil Shetty and the presence of Poymonti Baisya and Jeet Chandra has made this a complete team,” Balan said.
“This is not only an important tournament for Bengaluru Smashers but for all of us. The Indian Oil Ultimate Table Tennis Season 4 is a good platform to prepare for the Asian Games and I am waiting to give my best in the tournament,” said Manika Batra, who is ranked 35th at the global level.

 

The Coach of Bengaluru Smashers, Sachin Shetty, said, “The players are looking good and fresh. The players are willing to perform well as a team. Although we have met only recently, there is a good rapport between the players, coach and the support staff. We will enter the tournament as a single team and try to win every game. We will try to give our best in the event.”
