Pune: Mayor Mohol orders probe into the death of deers at the Katraj Zoo

Pune: Mayor Murlidhar Mohol on Wednesday ordered the Municipal administration to investigate the death of four deers in a dog attack at the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo in Katraj.

During the general meeting of the Municipal Corporation, MNS leaders agitated about the issue relating to the animal deaths. Slogans like ‘Save Animals at Rajiv Gnadhi Zoo’ were raised. MNS group leader Vasant More also pointed out that even after 10 days of the incident, no action has been taken in the area. Along with that, it was stated that many parks in the city are in a state of disrepair. Corporators of Congress Party and Nationalist Congress Party also took part in this agitation. The corporators demanded that the administration should further investigate the matter.

At that time, the Mayor Mohol said, “Immediate measures should be taken for the safety of animals at the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo. At the same time, the municipal administration should inquire into the cause of the incident and who is responsible for it.”
