Pune – Man falls to death from building trying to kill pigeon

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – A 36-year-old man allegedly fell to death from eighth floor of a building in Lohegaon while allegedly trying to kill a pigeon. He was allegedly under influence of alcohol and had consumed pigeon eggs while drinking.

The deceased has been identified as Arnav Tuhinenubu Mukhopadhyay of Ginnabelina Society, Kutwal Colony, Lohgaon. He worked in the back office department of a telecom company.

According to airport police station, the incident took place around 10.30 pm on Tuesday. His wife has given statement to police that he wanted to eat meat while drinking beer. As there was no meat, he had stolen pigeon eggs from a nest in his balcony, got their omelette made and consumed it.

Senior police inspector Dilip Shinde, in-charge of airport (Vimantal) police station, said that after drinking too much, he started showing remorse for eating the eggs and he took a knife started searching for the pigeon. He lost his balance and fell down from the balcony, resulting in his death.
