Pune: Fraudulent Sale of Car Unveiled! Three Arrested in Swargate Police Action

Pune: In a cunning scheme that unfolded near the Swargate bus station, a group of individuals orchestrated the sale of a car using falsified documents, duping an unsuspecting buyer of three lakh rupees. The incident, which occurred on February 25 around 7.30 p.m., has led to a swift police response, resulting in the arrest of three individuals out of the seven named in the case registered at the Swargate Police Station.

The complaint, lodged by Ganesh Baban Jagdale (28) from Khasgaon District, Dharashiv, sheds light on the elaborate deception carried out by the accused. Among those implicated in the case are Ayush Abhay Kulthe (25) from Goldfinger Tamara Society, Rahatni, Pimpri-Chinchwad, along with Prathamesh Shete and Sumit Badgujar.

According to police findings, the prime accused, Ayush Kulthe, assumed a false identity, presenting himself to the complainant as Navnath Khajine. Armed with counterfeit Aadhaar cards, RC books, and other documents under the fictitious name, Kulthe proceeded to lease a four-wheeler, falsely asserting ownership to the unsuspecting plaintiff.

Leveraging the trust he had cultivated, Kulthe then proceeded to deceive the plaintiff by furnishing fraudulent documents, masquerading them as authentic. Under the guise of legitimate ownership, the accused successfully swindled three lakh rupees from the victim, selling the vehicle using the forged paperwork. It has come to light that similar fraudulent transactions have been perpetrated against other unsuspecting individuals by the accused.

Following the complaint lodged by Jagdale, the police have initiated legal proceedings against all seven individuals involved, with Ayush Kulthe, Prathamesh Shete, and Sumit Badgujar already apprehended. The Swargate police booked the concerned accused under IPC sections 406, 419, 420, 463, 464, 467, 468, 471, and 34. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Sande.
