Pune : Four arrested for assaulting an Assistant police inspector

Pune : Wanawadi Police arrested four persons for allegedly beating up three people including an assistant police Inspector of the Traffic department. The Assistant Inspector was regulating traffic in Sayyednagar railway area along with his colleagues.

Out of the four arrested, three people were riding on a single two-wheeler. On obstruction by the Police Inspector, they allegedly beat up the police officer. The incident took place near Sayyednagar railway gate in Mahmandwadi at 8.30 pm on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Mosin Bagwan (24), Paijal Wahab Ansari (25), Shakeel Addal Ansari (24), Shahabad Dilshad Alvi (24) (all residents of Hadapsar). Assistant Police Inspector Umaji Rathore has lodged a complaint in this regard.

At that time, Rathore stopped Mosin’s who was on a two-wheeler with two others. When the cop questioned about the violation of traffic rules, the accused started abusing and shouting at the Inspector. Later on, the accused started beating up the police officer on duty. The four accused also beat up Mangesh Rokade and Sayaji Suryavanshi, who had mediated to settle the dispute.
