Pune: Faced problems during online exam? Don’t worry re-exam scheduled in November first week for final year students

Pune: Were you amongst the final year students who appeared for online exam conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)? Did you face problems while submitting the answers, or were not able to complete the paper in time? Don’t worry, you will get another chance to appear for the exam if you have submitted your complaints to the university.

The examinations for final year students of degree and post-graduate degree courses are being conducted by the Pune University from October 12. The examination is being conducted in online and offline mode. Students are facing several problems like improper translation, options to answers not being visible, non-compatibility of font, crashing down of site, unable to login and submit papers, etc. Many students fear that they might fail in the exam as they could not answer all questions in time. To address these concerns, the SPPU administration had asked students to fill a google form on the university website and register their specific complaints. These complaints are being scrutinised by a team including a Deputy Registrar rank officer and other staff.

SPPU has received more than 13 thousand complaints from students so far. Of these, about 8000 complaints are of students being unable to submit paper. The Pune University has maintained that not a single student will have to suffer academic loss due to the technical problems during the exam. Hence, the university has decided to conduct a re-examination for such students on November 1 to 5. The time table details will be released soon.

Pune University is considering one option that, those students who have answered more than 75 per cent questions or attended the exam for more than 50 minutes may not have to appear for re-examination. The examination of such students will be considered as valid and they will be exempted from the re-examination.
