Pune Crime News | Yerawada Police Arrest Woman and Friend Accused of Attempted Murder of Auto Rickshaw Driver

Pune: Pune Crime News | A shocking incident has come forward, a woman and her male friend set ablaze an auto rickshaw driver who has succumbed to 50% burn injuries on his body.

 

Fortunately, the woman and her male accomplice were apprehended by the Yerawada police on Wednesday in connection with the reported incident of setting an auto rickshaw driver on fire in a third-floor apartment at Shashtrinagar around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mukesh Rajput, the victim, lodged a police complaint on Wednesday, disclosing that he sustained severe burn injuries, covering 50% of his body, and was promptly admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for medical treatment.

 

Balkrushna Kadam, the Senior Inspector of Yerawada police, asserted, “We have filed a case against the woman and her friend for attempted murder and common intention.” The woman and Rajput had been cohabiting in a ‘Live-in-relationship’ for the past 15 years. However, the relationship soured recently as Rajput began accusing her of infidelity, leading to frequent conflicts and altercations between them. Rajput even witnessed the woman with her arrested male friend, who is identified as a casual worker, further exacerbating the situation.

 

The tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday during a heated argument when the woman erupted in anger, and her accomplice joined her simultaneously. Shockingly, they doused Rajput in kerosene and set him on fire, resulting in significant burn injuries.

 

This incident has deeply shocked the community, shedding light on the potential dangers and repercussions of domestic disputes. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served for the victim.
