Pune Crime News | Pune crime branch arrested burglar in just 48 hours, seized four laptops

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | The Pune police crime branch unit-1 team has arrested the thief who broke the door of the office with the help of an iron bar. The accused had stolen four laptops which had been seized by the police within 48 hours. The action was initiated at Daruvala Pul Chowk. The case has been registered at Shivaji Nagar police station. The accused has been identified as Mangesh Vijay Chavan (26) a resident of SM Joshi Hall, Daruwala Pul Chowk at Rasta Peth. The incident took place on August 4 at Model Colony.

While investigating the case a team of the crime branch checked the CCTV of the area. While investigating the photo of the suspected accused in the CCTV footage, police inspector Datta Sonwane came to know that a person who looked like the suspect in the CCTV footage was standing near a public toilet at Daruwala Pul Chowk. The team went at the spot and detained the suspected accused and conducted a thorough investigation. He confessed to the crime during interrogation. Four laptops worth Rs 34,000 have been seized from the accused. The accused has been handed over to Shivaji Nagar police station for further action.

The action was initiated under the guidance of Pune police commissioner Ritesh Kumar, joint commissioner Sandeep Karnik, additional commissioner Ramnath Pokale, deputy commissioner Amol Zende, assistant commissioner crime-1 Sunil Tambe, senior police inspector Shabbir Sayyad, assistant police inspector Ashish Kawthekar, police sub-inspector Ramesh Tapkir, police inspector Datta Sonwane and was carried out by Nilesh Sable, Anna Mane, Amol Pawar, Ayyaz Daddikar and Shankar Kumbhar.
