Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | A 38-year-old man who raped woman on the pretext of marriage gets a 7 years rigorous imprisonment by Rajgurunagar district and Additional Sessions Court Judge A. S. Syed. The accused have been identified as Balasaheb Laxman Bangar a resident of Beed. The accused and the victim were studying together in a college. (Pune Crime News)

From 2006 the accused lured her to different lodges in the city and raped her on the pretext of marriage. He also refused to marry the victim and demanded Rs 5 lakh from the victim. The accused also threatened the victim that he will post her offensive photos on social media if she did not give the money. Also the accused was married. The accused threatened and also beaten the victim and her brother and then the victim lodged a complaint with the Khed police in 2013 about rape, cheating, beating and threats. The accused was working in a village in Khed district and he was arrested from there, but he got the bail. The case was ongoing for 10 years in the Rajgurunagar District and Additional Sessions Court.

The accused claimed that no such thing took place. Government advocate Shubhangi Deshmukh presented the evidence of the lodge. Medical reports, victim testimony became important and accordingly Additional Sessions Court Judge Syed announced a sentence of 7 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. The Judge directed that the fine amount should be paid to the victim.
