Pune Crime News | Indapur police arrest two criminals for stealing ₹17 lakh from ATM at Indapur bus stand

INDAPUR (PUNE) : Pune Crime News | The Indapur police arrested two persons hailing from Punjab, in Daund on Wednesday, for stealing ₹17.55 lakh from the ATM installed at the Indapur ST stand. The accused have been identified as Rachpal Baldev Singh (36), a resident of Bhatinda, Punjab and Lakhvir Baldev Singh (29), Bhatinda, Punjab. The accused are notorious criminals. An investigation has proved that the accused have committed similar crimes at Supe (Baramati), Talegaon (Pune), Govandi (Mumbai), Gangapur (Rajasthan), Kota (Rajasthan), Pathankot (Punjab) and Uttarakhand.

 

A sum of ₹17.55 lakh had been stolen from Tata Indicash ATM machine located at the Indapur bus stand. An FIR had been registered at the Indapur police station. Since CCTVs at the ATM were non-functional, the police were not aware of the exact time of robbery and other information. Since there were no security guards, no information about the robbery was available. Hence, there were many obstructions in the probe.

 

A team of police officials checked the CCTV footage at Indapur city, Daund, Shikrapur, Ranjangaon, Uruli Kanchan area and carried out a technical probe and focused on the accused. They were apprehended on Wednesday. After they were produced in the court, the court remanded them to five-day police custody. API Yogesh Langute is carrying out further probe into the incident.

 

The accused Rachpal Singh was working in a bank and knew about the functioning of an ATM. Both the accused opened the ATM and installed a spy camera near the cassette of the money deposit area. After seeing the password of the ATM from the spy camera, they opened the ATM machine and stole ₹17.55 lakh, the investigation has proved.
