Pune Crime News | Chaos at RTO, Pune; fake Design Qualification Certificates issued to nine vehicles
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | In a shocking incident, an agent got illegal access to the Regional Transport Office’s (RTO), Pune’s Citizen Portal App and issued fake Design Qualification Certificates to nine vehicles. A case has been registered in this regard seven months after the crime took place. (Pune Crime News)
It is very well known that the RTO is infested with agents. One cannot get things done without an agent. It is always criticised that the office is not run by the officers and the staff at the RTO but by the agents.
Motor Vehicle Inspector Renuka Radhakisan Rathod (45) lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden Police station in this connection. The incident took place between 2.53 pm and 6.19 pm on November 17, 2022 at the RTO, near Sangam Bridge, Pune.
According to the police, the complainant works as the Motor Vehicle Inspector. The culprit hacked her password to log in on the app and accessed it illegally. He entered data, got approval and verified the entries. He took prints of the same and issued the certificates to nine vehicles.
The agent was using the complainant’s password for three hours but could not be detected. Later, the complainant realised that she had not issued the certificates to the nine vehicles. A departmental inquiry was conducted. Now, the complaint has been registered. PI Ashwini Satput is investigating the matter.
