Pune Crime | Hanif Somji, Sohail Somji, Alnesh Somji and Janice Somji booked for financial fraud
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | The Yerawada police station have registered a cheating case against four persons. A land development agreement belonging to Kharadi Agro Trading Company was cancelled by submitting fake documents. The land was then sold to someone else by the accused.
Hanif Somji, Sohail Somji, Alnesh Somji and Janice Somji, all residents of Boat Club Road have been booked. Kharadi Agro Trading Company director Iqbal Mastan Shaikh (37) of Hadapsar lodged a complaint in this regard. The incident took place between 2008 and 2013 in Vadgaon Sheri.
According to the police, the accused were directors of Kharadi Agro Trading Company. The firm removed them from their positions in 2010. Later, Nizar Mewani and Nurjaha Mewani were appointed directors of the company in 2015. Meanwhile, the complainant made an agreement with Hanif Somji to develop 6.6 R land at Vadgaon Sheri. The agreement was signed by Alnesh Somji on behalf of the company. Hanif Somji was given Rs 33 lakh by the company. Hanif Somji made a registered document in the name of the company.
In 2013, Hanif Somji and Surya Reality Pvt Ltd sold the land bought in the name of the company to Shyam Mankar and his partners. Hanif Somji signed the agreement on behalf of the company. The accused conspired to cancel the power of attorney given them by the company while registering the new document.
The accused took cheques in the company’s name while signing the sale deed. They also deposited these cheques in a fake bank account opened in the company’s name. The complainant does not have any bank account, where the accused deposited the cheques.
The complaint stated that the accused used fake documents and stamps made in the company’s name to open the bank account. The accused Hanif Somji, Sohail Somji, Alnesh Somji and Janice Somji conspired to cheat the complainant of lakhs of rupees
