Pune Crime Branch | Pune Crime Branch arrests main accused in businessman’s shooting case; Two pistols and 31 live cartridges seized

PUNE: Pune Crime Branch | The unit 2 of Pune police Crime Branch has arrested the main accused in the case wherein tobacco trader Latesh Suratwala (51) was shot at and injured last week. The police have seized two pistols, 31 live cartridges and cash of ₹3.52 lakh totally worth ₹4.19 lakh, said DCP Amol Zende.

 

The arrested accused have been identified as Abhaykumar Subodkumar Singh (23), a resident of Market Yard but hailing from Bihar, Nitish Kumar Ramakant Singh (22), a resident of Market Yard and hailing from Bihar and Mohammad Bilal Shaikh (28), a resident of Market Yard.

 

According to the police, after the incident which took place at Swargate Chowk, the Crime Branch was carrying out a parallel probe. Unit 2 officials came to know that the main accused in the case were in Bengaluru. PSI Nitin Kamble, policemen Uttam Taru, Ujjwal Mokashi, Amol Sarde and Gajanan Sonune left for Bengaluru. They apprehended the accused in Bengaluru.
The unit 2 officials have seized the pistol used in the crime and cash and two pistols, 31 live cartridges and cash of ₹3.52 lakh totally worth ₹4.19 lakh from Mohammad Bilal Shaikh. The accused have been handed over to the Swargate police for further investigation.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Tambe by PI Nandkumar Bidwai, API Vaishali Bhosle, PSI Nitin Kamble, PSI Rajendra Patole, policemen Sanjay Jadhav, Ujjwal Mokashi, Shankar Nevse, Namdev Renuse, Mohsin Shaikh, Uttam Taru, Rahul Rajpure, Vinod Chavan, Sadhana Tamhane, Vijay Pawar, Ganesh Thorat, Amol Sarde, Pramod Kokne, Gajanan Sonune, Nikhil Jadhav, Pushpendra Chavan and Nagnath Rath in taking the action.
