Action taken under MCOCA against gangster Samir Shaikh and aide

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta is taking action under MCOCA against gangs of criminals to keep control on crime. Action has been taken against notorious criminal on record Samir Shabir Shaikh and his aide under MCOCA. Shaikh had spread terror in the jurisdiction of Vimantal police station. The police chief has acted against 72 gangs so far. (Pune Crime)

 

Action has been taken against Samir Shabir Shaikh (27) and his aide Shakeel Shabir Shaikh (27), both residents of Ekta Nagar, Yerawada under the MCOCA. The accused have spread terror in the jurisdiction of Vimantal, Yerawada and Chandan Nagar police stations. Cases of assault and property are registered against them. The gang is involved in attempted murder, robbery, fighting, possessing sharp weapons, house break-in cases. Preventive action had been taken but it did not yield any positive result.

 

Vimantal police station’s Senior PI Bharat Jadhav prepared a MCOCA proposal to control the crime. This proposal was submitted to Addl CP Namdev Chavan through DCP Rohidas Pawar. The proposal was approved by Addl CP Namdev Chavan and hence, action against the accused was taken under MCOCA.

 

Amitabh Gupta, after becoming police commissioner, has taken strict steps to control crime in the city. He has taken action against gangs indulging in crimes of assault and property under MCOCA. Under his guidance, action has been taken against nine gangs this year and 72 gangs till date.

 

The action was taken by Senior PI Bharat Jadhav, PI Mangesh Jagtap, PSI SA Jadhav, constable Umesh Dhende from the surveillance team, police naik Pisal, Surya Yadav and policewomen Dhumal under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Namdev Chavan, DCP Rohidas Pawar and ACP Kishore Jadhav.
