Pune COVID19 Norms Violation: Police take action against youngsters celebrating birthday at night in Narayangaon

Pune: Junnar police took action against a group of youngsters for violating COVID19 guidelines. The youth were seen in a video celebrating the birthday of one of their friends on Sunday (December 13) night at Narayangaon. The video in which these youngsters were seen throwing eggs on each other, had gone viral on social platforms.

The birthday celebration took place in front of Muktai temple in Narayangaon.The police identified the youngsters and other six boys involved in the incident. They were arrested on Monday night.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Saqlain Nasir Attar, Sakir Amin Jamadar, Arman Khalid Shaikh, Moin Iqlakh Attar, Mosin Firoz Inamdar and Zahid Pir Mohammad Patel.

Assistant Police Inspector Dattatraya Gund told media persons, “These boys stay near the temple area. They were celebrating Attar’s birthday in front of the main gate of the temple.”

The six boys have been booked under the Disaster Management Act for a mass gathering despite the COVID19 guidelines and norms in place. Section 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by the public servant) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code have been slapped against the boys.
