Pune: CET topper Sanika Gumaste shares tips excelling in entrance exams

Pune: Sanika Gumaste, the topper of PCM group in state Common Entrance Test (CET) exams held recently, has shared some pro-tips with students to help them excel in the entrance exams which are crucial to get admission to your preferred college for engineering and other professional courses.
Sanika told media persons that the study she did in class 11 and 12 and preparations done for the JEE Advanced exam helped her achieve success in the MHTCET exam. “While studying for the exam, I read the books for physics, chemistry and math in detail and understood the concepts. The consistency in practice of solving questions improves your chances of being successful in the CET exams,” she said.
Sanika has got 100 percentile in the PCM group and has topped the state in the MHTCET exam. Sanika says, “Since the entrance exams are tough, students have to solve more questions in less time. Hence it is important to practice to solve maximum questions in minimum time. Lockdown period was very useful for me to study. I did solve all problems and did revision for all three subjects. I studied for more than 10 hours a day and hence I was expecting good marks in the exam.”
Sanika’s mother is a teacher while father is an engineer. She got 96 per cent marks in the HSC exam. Sanika credits her parents, college and tuition teachers for her success in CET exams. Sanika has ranked 2051 in the JEE Advance examination. On the basis of this score, Sanika has secured admission in the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur for the electrical branch.
Sanika said, “I wanted to get admission to the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) but since I got the IIT Kanpur seat I have taken admission there. My online classes have already started. I haven’t decided about my career moves yet, but I would like to do a job or work in the research field.”
