Pune: Andaman NIcobar Commander-In-Chief Lieutenant General Manoj Pande visits Bombay Engineer Group and Centre in Khadki

 

Pune: Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command and Colonel Commandant of The Bombay Sappers visited the Bombay Engineer Group and Centre, Khadki from November 23 to 25 on his first visit to the Centre after assuming the mantle of the Colonel Commandant, the Bombay Sappers in June 2020.
The visit commenced by laying a wreath at the Pioneer Memorial and was followed by inspecting a Guard of honour. During his address in a Sainik Sammelan, he complimented All Ranks for maintaining very high standards of training, lauded their efforts during flood relief operations and successfully overcoming challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also exhorted All Ranks to maintain the highest levels of operational readiness, continue to engage with the local community and contribute effectively towards nation building.
The Colonel Commandant witnessed combat oriented and technical training being imparted to recruits and Young Soldiers and improvements in training infrastructure were demonstrated.  The General Officer met and felicitated outstanding sportsmen of The Bombay Sappers who have excelled and brought laurels at the international and national level in rowing, boxing, sailing and triathlon.

The Commander-in-Chief called on Lieutenant General CP Mohanty, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command and discussed matters related to achieving jointness and synergy in tri-services operations during war.
