Panshet dam 100 per cent full

Pune, NPnews24: Due to heavy rainfall in Pune, all the dams are on the verge of filling up 100 per cent. On Saturday, Panshet dam is not 100 per cent full. Mulshi dam is 93 per cent filled, while the water storage in Bhama Askhed dam is 97 percent. 20,691 cusec of water has bee n released into the Mutha river from the Khadakwasla dam.

12,531 cusec of water is being released from Mulshi dam into the Mula river. The administration has issued a flood warning to the villages near the banks of the river.
As Panshet dam was 100 per cent filled on Friday, the administration released 9,892 cusec of water into the river. From morning till 10 pm at night, Panshet received 54 millimetre of rains.
Residents living near the Mula-Mutha river banks have been warned that due to the heavy rains, the area might get flooded.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has appealed to the residents to take care as the water levels in the dam is increasing.  Residents living in those areas will be evacuated if the river water level rises dangerously.

Bhama Askhed dam’s water storage is 97.53 per cent filled (7.1 TMC). As a precautionary measure, all four gates of the dam have been opened and 2,118 cusec of water is being released into the Bhama river. This year, the dam filled up sooner than last year.

Since water from the dam is being released, the Bhama river is flowing in full swing.
The administration has warned that the flow of the river can increase further due to heavy rainfall.
