The Ganpati festival of Pune, which has a glorious tradition, begins on Thursday. There will be over 7,000 police personnel in the city during the festive period.

There are 3,245 public Ganeshotsav mandals registered in Pune city and meetings were organized by the police to interact with various public Ganeshotsav mandal officials.

Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham, Joint Commissioner Shivaji Bodke, Special Branch DCP Ashok Morale inspected the security bandobast. There will be 525 officers including two additional police commissioners, 15 DCPs, 36 ACPs, 200 police inspectors, assistant inspectors, sub-inspectors will be deployed for bandobast. 500 personnel of the Home Guard as well as three companies of the SRPF will assist the Pune city police.

CCTV cameras will be monitored by the police in the area of ​​important mandals. Instructions have been issued to place additional CCTV cameras in some places. Police have been instructed to take security measures in Mandai area. Police have appealed people to contact police immediately if they find any suspicious object or person.
