Swati Mohol entered the BJP in the presence of Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil. Former mayor Murlidhar Mohol and party’s city unit chief Jagdish Mulik were present. Sharad Mohol is a notorious gangster in Pune. Many FIRs are registered against him in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune Rural areas. The Pune police had taken action under Sharad Mohol under MCOCA. When Sharad Mohol was in the Yerawada Jail, he had killed terrorist Katil Siddiqui. Eyebrows are being raised over the entry of Mohol’s wife into the BJP.

Two years ago, Swati Mohol had attended a programme held in Pune. A coffee table book listing achievements of Chandrakant Patil had been released at the programme. At that time, Swati Mohol had felicitated Chandrakant Patil. Thousands of activists had been brought in a show of strength. However, at that time, Swati Mohol had not been admitted to BJP.

Swati Mohol had been admitted to BJP against the background of forthcoming municipal elections.
