On Friday the historic decision came from Bombay High Court on the Ban over sound system for the Visarjan Procession. The HC stayed on it decision to ban Sound in public place. A PIL ( Public Interest Litigation ) was filed by the Professional Audio and Lightening Association against the government decision to ban sound, the decision came against the association. The impact of decision was seen in Pune. As it is the birthplace of Ganesh Utsav.

The agitator have decided if the government is not ready to give permission for Sound then the Mandal won’t do the Visarjan of Ganpati.

Hundreds of Mandal workers and the sound association representative took a press conference today informed that, “NO DJ NO VISARJAN”.

Former corporator Advocate Rupali Patil Thombare said, “ We respect our judiciary but it seems that due to lapses of Government not filing proper affidavit in High court which has resulted in such decision. Now the festival is tomorrow and we are short of time. So we cannot approach in Supreme court on the decision. We appeal to Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to use his discretion power just the way he had used after 9,000 corporators who misused their reservation quotes despite the court ruling which went against the corporators. In order to safeguard such coporators he shield them with his power by giving them six months additional time. If he can managed to do it for such corrupted corporators they why cannot he do for the comman man. Why such restrictions are only meant for Hindu festivals and why are only such festivals are always targeted. This is really an heinous act of government, as when they have their own political programme then such systems are used in larger scale. Will the same will be applicable in Gujrat during upcoming Dandiya festivals. We have given government an ultimatum till 4 pm by Sunday the CM should make some decision and allow such mandal to use sound system.”

In the meantime, before media Adv Rupali Patil Thombare before agitated mob called Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sanjay alias Nana Kakade via telephonic communication. Patil raised issue that our innocent volunteers of manadal and few agitated youth will be targeted by police. Who will be responsible for it. On which Kakade replied, “I give a word no person will be arrested by police or any strigent action will be taken against them. I appeal that give us a time we are working on it.”

The minimum decimal is wrong : Sound Association

Pune Sound Association’s secretary Shirish Pathak said, “ The limit set for the maximum sound pollution is set way back in 1986. It was done on the basis of buildings and other things which might be affected by the sound pollution. But now as we can see with traffic and other things the sound pollution right now is more than the permissible limit. When more than 10 people gather and talk it is more than the permissible limit.”
