NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar meets victims of Tiware dam breach

NPNews 24 Online : Ratnagiri – NCP chief Sharad Pawar met the victims of the Tiware dam breach. The leader also met party officials and government officials to discuss steps on how to overcome the disaster and avoid it in future. Pawar said that the plans should be implemented at the higher level of the authorities.

After going to Tiware village, Pawar first went to examine the dam. Later, he interacted with the victims.

He spoke to the victims about the village, the damage done to them and asked them about their problems.

The leader asked them what are the facilities available in the village, how much water is available in the village, how much damage was done in the accident and what damage did the dam breach cause to them, their farms and their livestock.
He also asked them how much help did they get from the authorities.

MLA Bhaskar Jadhav, Tehsildar Jeevan Desai, villager Tanaji Chavan and Ajit Chavan were answering the questions. Pawar made a note of the comments made by the Revenue Department. After this, Pawar directed by the government officials what to do now.

Pawar said that there are several schemes of State and Central government to compensate for the loss of farmland mainly, they should be effectively implemented in the village. Pawar said that if children want to be educated, they would be helped through Sahyadri Shikshan Sanstha. If there is any problem with the affected people or the government officials do not respond, they should contact NCP workers.

Pawar told NCP workers that they should help the government officials understand that it is their duty to help the victims. On July 3, a total of 23 people went missing when Tiware Dam in Ratnagiri developed a breach following heavy rains in the area causing flood-like situation.
