‘Navin Marathi Shala’ celebrates Rakshabandan uniquely

Raksha Bandhan is not only a bond shared between a sister and brother, it is a bond which we can share with our saviors, our protectors, who protect us in some or the other way. Rakshabandhan was not just limited to sisters tying rakhi to brothers. In an initiative taken by the school authorities, Rakshabandhan 2018 was celebrated differently and uniquely.

Rakshabandan, which fell on last Sunday, 26 August 2018, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Education Society’s ‘Navin Marathi Shala’ on Monday, August 27. The girls from the ‘Navin Marathi Shala’ tied Rakhis to Police, Rickshaw drivers and staff members of the school.

Heartiest Wishes On Raksha Bandhan From Everyone At NP NEWS NETWORK 

Being a Sunday, Raksha Bandhan celebration in schools is not possible and that is the reason to why school authorities celebrate this festival the next day that is on Monday. The celebration of such festivals at school taught life lessons to students and helped them to develop their social awareness in society.

The program started by worshipping ‘Rakhi’ by Head Master Kalpana Shantaram Wagh and school students. After which they took the oath that “Protection and conservation of the environment is my own duty”. For environmental protection, the students tied Rakhi to trees in the school.

The Head Master of the school Kalpana Shantaram Wagh said, “Police never gets time to celebrate any festival as they have to take care of our safety, maintain law and order. We see, Police is always ready for our protection in khaki uniforms every day, but they also have emotions and we saw those emotions today. We went to Narayan Peth’s Police Chowk and tied Rakhis to Police and I saw their eyes filled with tears.” In the end, Students also tied Rakhis to staff members, watchmen and Rickshaw drivers who drive them to school every day, they expressed their gratitude.

To celebrate Raksha Bandhan program this way was the idea of Head Master Kalpana Wagh. ‘Raksha’ means Protection and ‘Bandhan’ means Bond. School wants to make feel special to society’s protector that is Police. School taught the manners and how to respect elders, to girls through this program. They also want to show the importance of such festivals which gives the message of love and affection. In short, School was trying to developed positive qualities in students in their early age by celebrating such festivals at school.

The message spread among the children taught them a new lesson in life sure, to look at Raksha Bandhan from a different perspective as well!
