Mumbai-Pune Expressway | Rise in traffic rules violations, Highway lane cutting by heavy vehicles increases

npnews24 – Pune : Six-day special drive was conducted on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway by Panvel and Pune RTO and shocking information has come to the fore in this. This has reported a widespread lane cutting and over-speeding by heavy vehicles. A team from Pune and Panvel RTO offices have jointly carried out the operation at the designated black spot on the highway near Dheku village.

Taking note of the serious accidents on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Transport Commissioner Avinash Dhakne had ordered a six-day special operation. A total of 760 vehicles were impounded in the six days till July 10, of which 533 cases were for lane cutting on highways only, while 114 cases were for over-speed.

In addition, action was taken on a total of 760 vehicles for various offences such as overload 44, helmet 7, seat-belt 8, tax 6, no entry 3, bus 16, reflector 27, fitness 13, PUC 14, horn 23, black film 4. Out of this, revenue of Rs 23 lakh 71 thousand has been collected, according to the Transport Commissioner’s Office.
