Marathi language now compulsory in central offices; State Government Orders

Thane : It has been made mandatory to use local Marathi language along with English and Hindi in all Central Government offices. If there is an office in the district that does not do that, it is necessary to invite its chief and remind him that the Guardian Minister, People’s Representative and District Collector prefer to use Marathi. For this, the state government has issued an order on November 6 for the district collector to report to the language directorate every three months.

According to the trilingual formula, the official language department of the central government has given instructions to use regional Marathi language along with Hindi and English as a priority. Accordingly, one of the coordinating officers at the district and taluka level for the preparation of reports focusing on the use of Marathi language in the central offices of the district, public enterprises, banks, insurance companies, railways and other central establishments. Appointment orders have also now been received by the District Collector.
