Maharashtra News : Sanjay Raut on Fadnavis’s announcement on OBC reservation – ‘We will not let him retire’

Mumbai : Former Maharashtra CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had announced on Saturday that he would retire from politics if he could not get OBC reservation. Now Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has retaliated on this statement of Fadnavis. Sanjay Raut said on Monday – Rest assured, we will not allow Fadnavis to take any kind of retirement. BJP is agitating in the state on the issue of OBC reservation in local bodies.

On Saturday, the BJP had organized a state-wide agitation on the issue of OBC reservation. Fadnavis had led this movement at Variety Chowk in Nagpur and had announced to give OBC reservation or quit politics if he returned to power. Fadnavis had alleged that the state government was responsible for the cancellation of OBC reservation. He had said – till the reservation is not restored, there will be no relaxation. If they come to power again, they will get reservation and if they are unable to give, they will leave politics.

On Fadnavis’s statement, Sanjay Raut said- Fadnavis should not use such language. We won’t let that happen. There is a dearth of such leaders in the country and the state who can give good leadership. Fadnavis is one of the good leaders. He is a fighter. He will keep fighting for his rights, if he retires, BJP and people will suffer a lot. Raut further said- His companions should convince him. Fadnavis has a bright political future.

On this announcement of Fadnavis, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ also wrote – Fadnavis saying this is not the right tradition. Apart from this, Congress leader and Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat has also targeted Fadnavis on the same issue. He said- This is the old way of BJP to say anything for power. Earlier, Fadnavis had also said that he would not marry till Vidarbha gets independence. There is no need to take him seriously.
