Jalna: Shiv Sena member killed, body burnt along with car on Sevali-Nagpur bypass road

Jalna: A male carcass was found in a burnt car in the valley of Sevali-Nagpur bypass road in the taluka on Monday (February 8) morning, the police said. According to the documents found in the wallet of the deceased along with the car, the burnt body was identified as Shiv Sena activist Ramesh Shelke (resident of Pahegaon, Tal. Jalna). According to the police’s preliminary investigation, the car was set on fire after keeping the dead body inside the car.

Sevali police rushed to the spot after receiving information that a car was on fire in the valley of Sevali-Nagpur bypass road in the taluka on Monday morning. While inspecting the car, a carcass of a male was found in the car. After a thorough inspection of the area by the police, a wallet was found by the police. According to the documents in the wallet, the body was of Shiv Sena activist Ramesh Shelke (resident of Pahegaon, Jalna district), police said.

Police also found bloodstains on some stones and handkerchiefs at the spot. According to the police, Ramesh Shelke was killed and his body was kept in a car and his body was burnt along with the car. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader and former Minister of State Arjun Khotkar visited the spot.

Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Police Officer in charge of Partur Indalsingh Bahure, Assistant Inspector of Police Vilas More of Sevali Police Station, Sub-Inspector of Police Nitin Guddewar of Mantha Police Station along with police officers and staff, finger print Squad and Dog Squad visited the spot for investigation.

According to police, the burnt body was found lying in the driver’s seat of the car. The head of the skeleton was on the driver’s seat and its lower body on the passenger’s seat, the police said.

After getting information about this incident, the police officers and staff of Sevali police station rushed to the spot. However, as the car was in a valley, Assistant Inspector of Police Vilas More slipped and fell on the way to the spot leaving seriously injured. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Jalna for treatment.
