Heavy vehicles banned on parts of Pune-Nagar Road at peak traffic hours

Npnews24 Online Pune: Owing to the continuous traffic congestions on Pune-Nagar Road near Koregaon Bhima and Shikrapur, the Pune District Collector has imposed time restrictions on the heavy vehicles on particular patches of the road.

Pune-Nagar Highway is notorious for long hours of traffic jam. Especially, the stretches from Koregaon Bhima to Maltan Fata, and Shikrapur to Wajewadi Road have a constant traffic of heavy vehicles.

In a notification released by Collector Naval Kishore Ram, it has been mentioned, “Until an alternative route is located for the road, heavy vehicles have been prohibited to drive on the above mentioned patches from 6 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 8 pm.”

The notification has been released following a proposal for the same that was put forth by Superintendent of Police (SP), Pune Rural Sandeep Patil.

The notification also stated that action will be taken against the heavy vehicle drivers that are found to be driving in the aforementioned patches during the prohibited timings.
