Fire Brigade’s swiftness rescued two lives stuck in the lift

A situation of panic was created, when two young men got stuck inside the lift on Monday at 8:30 pm. They were stuck inside the lift for about two hours. The safety rope of the lift caused the failure of the elevator on the fourth floor of the Shree Srushti Apartments, Yewalewadi, Kondhwa Budruk area, Maharashtra.

The building is an eleven storey building. As soon as the control room of Brigade team received the information, they rushed to the spot immediately. Two vehicles of Fire Brigade of Kondhwa Budruk region and a Quick Response Team were dispatched promptly to rescue the stuck men.

When they reached the spot, they went to the fourth floor and inspected the incident. They both seemed to be frightened and panicked. Somehow, the safety rope of lift broke and was stuck. The employees and workers of the lift were also there on the spot

The brigade personnel immediately tied their manual rope to the iron, channeled the lift, opened the door to the stuck men and took them out safely. Later, when the rope was released, it landed on the basement.

Both of them were non-residents of Pune city and have come here for their education. They live on the lease on the fifth floor of the eleven storied building.

Tandel Subhash Jadhav, a leading fireman told Npnews24 that, “As soon as we came to know about this, we immediately rushed to the spot. When we reached the fourth floor, the safety rope was broken and hence the lift was stuck on the fourth floor. Then with the help of Manual rope of our vehicle, we tied to the lift on the fourth floor, pulled it down and pushed the door of the lift, successfully rescuing  both of the them, and when we released the rope, the lift landed on the ground floor. Within 15 minutes we were able to rescue them out of the disastrous situation.”

The men should thank their lucky stars that the rope of the lift was not completely broken, or else they would have been in a great danger. Along with Subhash Jadhav, , driver Sukhdev Gogawale, solider Ajit Shinde, Vishal Yadav whereas Quick Response team’s Rahul Jadhav, Pradip Kokre, Omkar contributed their best in the whole rescue operation.

 

 

 

What to do in such crisis?

  • Keep emergency contact information handy: Immediately inform the fire brigade officials and the rescue team in such situation.
  • Do not panic: Keep calm and use your presence of mind and immediately call the team of soldiers. Just breathe and relax, excessive panicking may even take your life, so stay as much relaxed as you can.
  • Do not delay: Be quick to inform the soldiers and the rescue team.
