FIR lodged against Pimpri mayor’s son for flouting covid norms

PIMPRI: Due to the spike in corona cases, police are taking stringent action against those defaulting covid norms set by the administration. Pimpri mayor’s son was arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad police for violating the norms of Covid-19. Mayor Usha Dhore’s son Jawahar Dhore was booked by Pimpri police on Wednesday.

According to the information given by Pimpri Chinchwad police, Dhore violated the safety norms at a programme organised by him on Monday at the Ramakrishna More Auditorium in Pimpri Chinchwad. Jawahar organized a beauty contest in the auditorium which was named “Miss Pimpri Chinchwad Beauty Contest”. Police said in the program no social distancing was followed.

On the arrest of the son, Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Dhore claimed that this issue is being stretched by opponents and in the programme, the number of visitors was more than the organizers thought.

An FIR has been lodged against Jawahar Dhore for violating the norms in Pimpri Chinchwad police Station by a civic official.

Police Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad, Krishna Prakash said that a case has been registered against the organisers of the programme and strict action will be taken against the violators.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Rajesh Patil stated that this behaviour will not be tolerated as this is about the safety of the citizens and strict action will be taken against the organisers.
