Education Committee to be formed soon: Commissioner Saurabh Rao

NPnews24 Online Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will soon begin the process of formation of an Education Committee under the Right To Education (RTE) Act and submit its proposal to the general body in August, PMC Commissioner Saurabh Rao informed to a delegation of the MNS.

After the dismissal of the Board of Education, the State government announced that the civic body should establish an Education Rights Committee.

Accordingly, it has been almost a year and a half since the civic administration submitted its proposal.

The MNS delegation alleged that the primary education was being privatised due to the absence of an education committee.

The commissioner held a meeting at Ghole Road Regional Office on Monday. The commissioner said that the civic administration will begin the process of setting up an education committee in the next  meeting.
