CLOSING CEREMONY OF 3RD ELITE MEN’S BOXING NATIONAL

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – The 3rd Elite Men’s Boxing National Championship being held at Army Sports Institute (ASI), Pune since 27 October 2018 concluded with a glittering closing ceremony on 02 November 2018.  Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Southern Command was the Chief Guest for the event which was attended by more than 360 boxers from 38 teams, officials from Boxing Federation of India (BFI), Referees, Coaches and boxing enthusiasts of Pune.

 

Finals of all 10 weight categories took place on 02 November 2018 and the medal winners were awarded medals by Lieutenant General Manoj Pande and other dignitaries. Services team stood overall first and the Railways team was the runners up.  The Chief of Staff handed over the winning trophy to the Services team. He congratulated all the medal winners and complimented all the organisers from ASI and BFI for successfully hosting the event.

During the closing ceremony Mr Kishan Narsi, Chairman Advisory Committee, Mr Akhil Kumar and Mrs Poonam, National Observers, Chief Coach Mr SR Singh and Target Olympic Podium Scheme CEO Commander Rajagopal lauded the efforts of the Army in organising this grand event.
