Body of murdered woman found in water tank of housing society

A woman was allegedly murdered and her body dumped in the water tank of a housing society in Ambegaon. The incident came to light on Saturday, when some people saw the body and informed the police.

The deceased woman has been identified as Chinmaya Tamang (42). Police have detained a suspect in connection with the murder. It is suspected that the murder is a fallout of illicit relationship. There are some marks on woman’s body, officials said.

Police have sent the body to Sassoon hospital for postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
