BJP’s Ravi Landage elected as Standing Committee Chairman of PCMC

PIMPRI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator Ravi Landage won the elections for Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman by five votes against Praveen Bhalekar of Nationalist Congress Party on Friday (March 5).

Praveen Bhalekar of NCP had also filed an application for the post of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman. Landage got 10 votes while Bhalekar got five votes.

Ravi Landage, a loyal BJP corporator, had resigned as a standing committee member due to injustice done by local and senior party leaders and MLAs. Landage had stated that he was resigning due to the injustice inflicted upon him by the party. Therefore, Landage was absent in today’s elections despite winning.
