BJP corporator in PCMC wants his ward to be named a zoo

NPnews24 Online Pimpri: Irritated with the increasing nuisance of stray animals in the area, this Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator in Pimpri-Chinchwad has demanded that his ward should be declared a ‘zoo’.

Corporator of Ward 21 Sandeep Waghere as also remarked that the city known to be z hub of industries and saints, could also be easily called the city of animals.

Waghere has been criticising the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar as the rank of the city according to the Central Government’s Most Liveable City parametres had dropped to no.69, while Pune was positioned at No.1.

He further said, “While the zoo in the city has been in news after crocodile, python, were stolen from there, no such case is happening in my ward. Stray dogs, and other animals have been roaming around without anyone to stop them here. The citizens, I must say, are not bothered any more as they have gotten used to it.”

He also gave a sly remark saying, “Only if we could get a few lions, tigers, elephants and bears, my ward could truly be a zoo.”
