Bisexual Techie Thrashed And Robbed By Gang Of Four Men, Looted And Beaten Him

Pune: Using of dating app gone wrong, a 34-year old married man, revealed himself to be bisexual was beaten and robbed at Sinhagad road area by gang of four men. According to police the young complainant was not just thrashed but also looted of nearly a lakh worth of cash and goods in his pursuit of a homosexual encounter. A case has been registered at Sinhagad Road police station (PS) this Sunday against four persons by the complainant, who works as a software engineer at a city-based IT company.

According to Assistant police inspector of Sinhagad Road who is the investigating officer in the case, said, “The incident took place on August 9, around 10.30 am. The complainant was chatting on an app called Grindr, when a person named Ravi responded to his profile. The complainant then asked for Ravi’s location and was told the latter is on DSK Road. The accused then told the complainant to come over for sexual intercourse.

Thereafter, the complainant headed over to DSK Road around 11.30 am, where he met the young man. The two went to Ravi’s room and began getting intimate but suddenly, three men entered the room with sticks. They kicked the complainant, thrashed him with the sticks and told him that they have made a video of the encounter. They also threatened him that they would make the video go viral on social media. Saying this, they forcibly took Rs 10,000 in cash, two gold rings and two silver rings from the complainant. Further, they also took Google Pay access, but when that did not work, they made him reveal his debit card PIN, and extracted Rs 81,000 from his account at an ATM.”

However, the complainant was left in abject fear of the video being uploaded online, and stayed mum. For several weeks, he refrained from filing a police complaint for fear of his family life being negatively affected. However, after he unburdened himself to a friend, the latter accompanied him to the PS and the complaint in this matter was lodged. API added, “The youth lodged the complaint at our PS on August 30. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a gang of robbers is responsible, and targeted the victim via the Grindr app. The case has been registered under sections 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and 394 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the accused will be arrested soon.”
