Bharati Vidyapeeth police recovers 8 stolen bikes

Officials from Bharati Vidyapeeth police station of Pune city police have nabbed a historysheeter and recovered eight stolen bikes worth Rs 3.2 lakhs.

The arrested accused has been identified as Omkar Ramesh Patil (19), a resident Narhe, Dhayari.

Acting on tip-off received by constables Ganesh Chinchkar and Mahesh Mandlik of the detection branch of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station, Patil was arrested. He was caught riding a motorcycle without registration number.

According to police, there are seven theft cases against Patil registered with Sinhgad road police station. A magistrate court has remanded him to four days police custody. Police have seized one KTM, three Pulsar, one Yamaha FZ, one Passion, one Splendor, one Honda motorcycles from his possession.

Further investigation is being done by Assistant Police Inspector S R Chiwadshetty.
