Alcohol addicted mouse steals 200 canes of alcohol!

You must have heard notorious stealing alcohol from shops. But, have you ever heard of a mouse getting addicted to alcohol?

Yes,  In a shocking incident, a case of a mouse drinking 200 canes of alcohol from government go-down has come up which is drawing the state’s attention towards it. This incident took place in Bihar.

A local officer said in regard to this case, “200 canes of alcohol were drunk by a mouse. This case has become the major attraction of the state.”

In 2016, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced a ban on alcohol. After that, police seized alcohol from bars and wine shop.

These seized alcohol were stored in government’s go-down. These 200 canes were also kept in the same go-down. On inspection by the police in one of the go-downs they found the canes are empty with holes in it.

In this matter when media asked Patna city’s top police official, Manu Maharaj, he said he was told by police inspectors on Tuesday that a huge amount of liquor has been lost due to the rats. Now, police have ordered an inquiry to examine these claims.

After a ban on alcohol, Bihar police subsequently launched search operations across the state to confiscate alcohol. They also arrested more than 40,000 people for illegally keeping alcohol in their homes and shops.

As a result to the operation alcohol was stored in the police stations in huge amount. High stocks of alcohol bottles are kept in police stations as an evidence. Some police stations even rented private storage facilities for the bottles. Since then police have seized more than 900,000 litres.

Manu Maharaj, also said that, “We came to know that the claims are false or true by tests. If we found they have failed the tests, then the officer might even lose their jobs, apart from being prosecuted under the new stringent excise and prohibition laws,” he said.

After a ban of alcohol in Bihar, crime rates are in control now. It was seen as a way of reducing domestic violence, harassment and poverty.
