Ahmednagar honour killing : Minor girl’s father, two uncles arrested

Ahmednagar : Np News Network – In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old was murdered by her father and two maternal uncles in a case of honour killing in Ahmednagar district’s Jamkhed. Police have arrested all three accused persons.

The deceased has been identified as Arti Saygude, a resident of Chaundi village in Jamkhed taluka of Ahmednagar district. The arrested persons are her father Pandurang Saygunde, and maternal uncles Rajendra Jaganath Shinde, Dnyandev Jaganath Shinde, both residents of Nimgaon Daku in Karjat taluka of Ahmednagar district.

According to police, Arti studied in class 11th. Her father had lodged her missing complaint on March 24. On the morning of March 28, her body was found in half burnt, decomposed condition in a field about 500 meters from her house, when her sister had gone to answer nature’s call.

Officials from Jamkhed police and the local crime branch (LCB) rushed to the spot and after investigating the case it was found to be case of honour killing. Police suspect more persons are involved in the murder case.

The investigation team included Police inspector Pandurang Pawar, API Avtarsingh Chavan, Nilesh Kamble and LCB Inspector Dilip Pawar.
