Aditya Birla Hospital’s CEO in trouble

Using of bouncers to manhandle the patient’s relatives landed the CEO of hospital in trouble. In a bizzare incident, Dashrat Arade (72) a patient patient who got an attack of paralysis was admitted to the Aditya Birla Hospital on 8 August and was under treatment till 11 August.

He was admitted to the hospital by his son and 10,000 rupees was paid to the hospital named Sanjay Mishra Arade (38), a resident of Kailashnagar, Pimpri.

A complaint has been filed against the CEO of Aditya Birla Hospital and 3 others for keeping the patient and troubling him for several days on not getting the amount of treatment after charging an outstanding amount from the patient’s family.The family was Below Poverty Line (BPL). The treatment of the patient was supposed to be free of cost by the hospital but was not so.

The patient was discharged on the orders of the hospital but only on the basis of papers. When, the patient’s son went to the hospital to take his father admitted to home, they gave them a bill with total amount of 86,586. And, the hospital refused to discharge the patient until the full amount was paid knowing the patient was BPL.

When the patient’s relatives insisted to visit him, the bouncers of the hospital were called upon by the hospital authorities and which led to a fight among them. After getting frustrated by such act, complainant filled case against the CEO of hospital in Wakad police station. The police is still probing into the case. The police officials probed into the case and discharged the patient from the hospital on Wednesday.

Mahesh Swami, Assistant police inspector of Wakad police station said, “The patient was kept in the hospital for about 11 days and was not treated properly, he was not given food to eat as well. The relatives of the patient were prohibited to visit the patient’s cabin. A complaint has been registered by complainant Sanjay Mishra Arade, his father was admitted in Aditya Birla Hospital and was Below Poverty Line.”

The accused are C.E.O of hospital Rekha Dubey and Rajesh Dubey of Birla hospital have been arrested and also the bouncers. Under section 344, 323, 34 such case has been registered in the police station.

According to section 344; whoever wrongfully confines any person for ten days, or more, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine.

According to section 323; whoever voluntarily causes hurt, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

According to section 34; A criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention of all, each person is liable to for the act in same manner as if it were done by alone.
