5 members of family injured in tree fall at Sarasbaug

NPnews24 Online Pune: Five people of a family were injured after an old tree fell down in Sarasbaug on Wednesday around 6.15 pm. In this incident, a woman is seriously injured, and a ten-year-old boy has got minor injuries. The injured are being treated at private hospital. In this case the complaint was lodged with the Swargate police station.

Meanwhile, Pune municipal corporation (PMC) did not have any information about this incident till late night. The citizens also complained that the security personnel did not know the seriousness of the incident in time, hence the injured could not get help in time.

The injured persons have been identified as Nikita Nitin Battelu (24) Manasi Penta (15) Neha Battelu, Prasad Battelu (21), Om Ganesh Dubhash (11), all residents of Camp, Mahesh Penta (38) of Ahmednagar.

The Battelu family had gone to Sarasbaug on Wednesday afternoon. Om and Manasi were playing near the temple, while other members were sitting. A Gulmohar tree suddenly collapsed. In this, five people were injured. Nikita’s head was hit and the injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. The relatives said that Nikita’s condition is serious.
