1st time in history, woman accused gets imprisonment for gang rape  

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- India, known for being the rape country, comes across various devastating rape cases which shook’s the nation. But, when we come across woman being part of a rape, tears our heart apart.

Making it Maharashtra’s first ever case, a woman is being given severe imprisonment of 20 years for being a part of gang rape.

The incident took place on 13th April in 2016 in Mundwa where a 12-year-old girl was gang-raped in 2016. After which mother had filed a case against the four accused Manoj Suresh Jadhav (21), Varsha Dhanraj Gaikwad (32), Ajay Deepak Jadhav (22), Sarvodaya Colony, Anandnagar, Mundhwa) and Prashant Gaikwad (28, resident of Rakshak Nagar, Kharadi) who are now sentenced for rigorous imprisonment of 10-20years.

According to the whole incident, the victim was visiting her relatives place, the flat adjacent to the accused. Varsha later brought her to Prashant’s flat where the other two accused were already present. They started off with a conversation and in the meantime, Manoj started asking her about how she is feeling talking to him and would she like to get married to him. Further, Prashant and Ajay held her hand and her feet. Later they gang raped her.

It is very shameful that being a woman she did not have the courtesy to push a child in such tremendous trauma and being a part of a sever crime.  Additional public prosecutor Rajesh Kapadia cross checked on all the witnesses and also told, that girl’s testimony and medical evidence were important in the case. The court sentenced the four accused under various sections of rape, gang rape, computerized, molestation and child sexual abuse.

After the judgement, the victim’s mother said, “The judgement given by the judge have increased by faith in judiciary and I am happy that my daughter has received justice and hope no one to get victimized.”
