Youth wears police uniform to impress friends, lands in police net

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A youth put on a police uniform to impress his friends but his lie was exposed when he told the patrolling policemen of Chauhshrungi police station that he was posted at Aundh police chowki. He has been arrested by the Pune police. (Pune Crime News)

 

The arrested imposter has been identified as Yahwant Ramesh Dhuri (30), a resident of Kalewadi. Havaldar Shrikant Waghwale has lodged a complaint (298/23) at the Chatuhshrungi police station. The incident took place on the bridge above Ram river near Nagras Road in Aundh on Sunday at 1.30 pm.

 

According to the police, PSI Nileshkumar Mahadik and his aides were patrolling in a private vehicle and they saw that a policeman was standing on the Ram river bridge. Since they did not recognise him, they asked him where was he posted. He told them that he was stationed at Aundh police chowki. Although he was wearing a police uniform, he was wearing a slipper. They found that he was wearing a badge of Pimpri Chinchwad police on his arm. When they realised that he was lying, they took him to Chatuhshrungi police station. When he was questioned, he told them he was working as a delivery boy and had put on the police uniform to impress his friends. Havaldar Kapre is probing the case.
