The last auction was a mini one with only 332 players had gone under the hammer at the mini-auction with 73 spots up for grabs for the eight franchises.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, a total of only 62 players were sold in the one-day affair. With an eye on the mega auction in 2021, most of the teams did not go all out in the auction and only picked a few selective players. However, the BCCI has reportedly decided not to conduct a mega auction.<\/p>\n<p>With IPL 2020 ending on November 10, the BCCI will have only four-and-half months to begin with the next IPL which is set to take place in its usual slot. The BCCI is considering allotting a similar window as this year \u2013 stretching in excess of 50 days to host 60 matches \u2013 and make up for what the stakeholders are losing out on this season.<\/p>\n<p>The report also stated that all the franchises agree with the board\u2019s line of thought that there won\u2019t be enough time and space available for teams to rebuild.
