On an average on daily basis, hundreds of people complain about backaches, back pains right from the teenage till the adult and go on till senior citizen. This has become a common issue but cannot be neglected but most pros are people using Laptop and mobile smartphones. Unknowingly, a 9-5 job and stress are making youth somehow weaker day by day.

The doctors and expert claims the apart from the patient approaching them are not only people who met with an accident or any injuries pain but too much prone to smartphones and electronic gadgets are leading to such issues. People adjust themselves to electronic gadgets but expert prefer to make the gadget adjust not ourselves.

Hours of stressful work in the office, and then complaining about neck hurting is a prevailing problem in youth. A tablet might give you instant pain relief but it will not heal you claim the doctors.

World Physiotherapy Day is been celebrated worldwide on 8 September. But, how many people believe and opt for physiotherapy? Not many. But, why not apply the ‘prevention than cure’ theory in life. Physiotherapy might seem a complex word, but it actually is not such say doctors and modern day doctors.

Rather than going to the doctors, taking medicines and putting yourself in trouble bearing the side-effects of the medicines is not what you would prefer. Rather, taking preventions and opting for a slow healing process would be much better.

She advised youth, “Paying Rs 1000 today is better than paying 10,000 tomorrow.  Ignorance and simply applying home remedies will only subside the problem temporarily and will lead to bigger problems in the future. Youth should be made aware of this therapy by conducting sessions in the corporate world, schools, and colleges.”

She also claims that “out of 6-7 kids, 50-60% muscle of body was tight and weak, it occurs due to lack of exercise. Making children do exercises is a part of physiotherapy. Children from the very early stage should be told the adequate proportion of time devoted to TV sets, posture, or such may lead to problems in future. Thumb joint pains have increased due to the excessive use of digitalized gadgets. When in a certain body pain, you need to go under physiotherapy and after complete treatment, you can opt for Yoga.”

Dr. Ashish Keoliya, Consultant Physiotherapist of Joshi Hospital said, “In case of back pain, doctors will suggest you MRI, x-ray, and in case of physiotherapy, they try to treat root cause but orthopedics cure symptoms. Patients have a misconception about physiotherapy.”

He warned, “Google knowledge is harmful and comes to doctors after the problem is triggered. Taking lessons from Google is proving fatal. Why are the doctors for. The class who is highly educated and has come in contact with a physiotherapist comes frequently, other than that other common people altogether have a different perspective on it. Other medical professionals should consider holistic approach while treating patients and should consider physiotherapy point of view too.”

He advised, “General people (patients) should know that physiotherapy is just not limited to use of electrical modalities, but to decrease the pain and correct the causing factors by postural correction and increasing muscle strength to regain proper mechanism of movements (of joints). The patients should try to avoid fake people just to reduce the treatment cost, in any medical field and later blaming the whole profession for the same. Anyone can avoid most of their physical problems related to muscles and joints just by following proper posture and doing exercises in the correct manner.”

Dr. Janhavi said, “Both are two aspects of examples with different execution technique. Physiotherapies concentrate more on the condition of the patient and prescribe the exercise according to that condition. We increase the strength of muscle gradually and prepare them for yoga. Social media is an important platform to spread awareness, organizing camps; seminars for the same. Also, senior doctors, orthopedics, neurologist, gynecology, pediatric are prescribing physiotherapy. Initial treatment right from children to the elderly is given treatment.

Adwait Phanse(21), with a Ph.D. degree, who went through ACL surgery said, “I went through 2 months of physiotherapy and it works. The process is slow, but it heals you from inside. People want an instant result. English premier league, players have physiotherapy clubs are appointed in case of crisis.”

Ankit Pitre(23), a Kabaddi Player and B com, llb last year student said, “He tore his ACL, he operated, exercise, I can drive properly. I went through an accident in December, while playing Kabaddi sports, unfortunately, I tore my ACL,  in 10 days, I recovered after physiotherapy. Ligament usually tears such problem occurs in youth. Youth should conduct Physiotherapy sessions in schools and colleges. It enhances flexibility.”

Vaishnavi Khekale(21) a software engineer said, “I went through ACL surgery, meniscal surgery. My overall experience was really good. We continuously work at a stretch, pains are a common problem, physiotherapy is the only treatment which helps me out. I had to tell my manager I am going for physiotherapy, people did not believe me, they thought I lied, hence conducting workshops is important. I believe no need of taking medicines, physiotherapy has the solution to problems.”

Mrunal Phense(20), engineering student of Sinhagad college, “Right shoulder use to pain during my exams, I faced difficulty in writing and tried painkillers, consulted doctors, but didn’t work out. 2 weeks I did Physiotherapy before my exams, did exercises and I recovered, since then I did not face any problem with writing or pain in right wrist. Recently, I went through treatment but I had to practice exercise regularly and the charges of the whole process was affordable.”
