When someone asks me who the best actor is working today I answer pretty quickly, Joaquin Phoenix is something special. I can’t think any other actor possesses same level of his magnetism. And it’s not about me, if you ask fans of him you may not get any one who disagree with his talents if he can play the role of Joker.
The name we take, the face we remember for the Joker character for lifetime, only Heath Ledger has occupied the place. He adapted the character’s thought according to the script by being locked himself in a room for a month. Joker has never been so dark and conservative with his intense crazy choices, credit goes to Christopher Nolan. Okay, so we have entered into a dark room now. And people know about DC comics as Dark Comics or Detective Comics. No DCEU (unofficial term) has always been in debate for criticizing, where the shadow of its dark themed movies cover the face of popularity.

From ‘Man of Steel’ to ‘Justice League’, DCEU has been in target prior to Marvel and their fans. Marvel Cinematic Universe has occupied or we have to say conquered over millions of hearts over the world. And DCEU is still on their own created ladder. When the term comes ‘introduction’, DC universe fails. All this cinematic chaos created many changes in DCEU. Sources say DC has fired ‘Jack Snyder’ for his violent contents on each single movie he made. The conflict didn’t stop here when ‘Justice League’ was on rumors for Superman’s moustache editing. It became the joke for marvel and memes for the world. But the fans are confident with DC’s creative team and the characters they have.
Recent reports say, Dwanne Johnson has found his place in DC universe. Where rumors say next will be Leanardo DiCaprio confirming ‘Jake Gyllenhaal’ for Batman. DCEU is struggling with their characters fighting for the positions among fans rather than being recognized battling with the aliens coming from outer world. But the core fans can be seen eagerly waiting for DC upcoming movies.
Joaquin Phoenix has been around for a while. The talented actor has come with his vulnerable expressions winning many hearts in a single scene. From childhood, he occupied screens. Since the millennium he’s been nominated for Oscar award three times. Gladiator, Walk the Line, The Master, Joaquin had made appreciation for his roles. In addition to the Oscar nomination Joaquin not only won the Golden Globe, for his uncanny portrayal of ‘Johnny cash’ in ‘Walk the Line’ he took a Grammy for his musical talents. Magnificent. Phoenix has played roles which are strange, in-digestive and possibly uneasy to accept.
How would you react when if someone asks you to explain your stabled position? Of course you can explain but if tragedy has surrounded you with sharp knives targeting your emotions to kill, I’m sure your tongue would be slower than your thought and expressions will tell more about you. He does the same. With flattered face he acquires complicated eyebrows reflexes and subtly manipulates mouth in order to convey emotion.
Working with filmmakers like Paul Thomas Anderson, Spike Jones, Lymn Ramsay and Gus Van Sant, he has played characters that are hardened and intimidating and characters that are completely off the wall. These films for lack of a better word or art bigger than the films, Phoenix acted and made place inside millions. Joaquin uses a similar approach towards the end of the movie ‘her’ where he uses subtle expressive changes to convey panic, relief, suspicion, confusion, shock, anger and devastation.
Phoenix adds layers to a single scene along with layers to the character. Fans are eagerly waiting for ‘The Joker Origins’ and concept trailer released on a YouTube channel ‘Aldo Jones’ shared by DC has already made creepy laugh over Marvel. Choosing Joker as a challenge Joaquin Phoenix has allowed himself to experiment with his acting. Now DCEU has time to connect their movies with fans’ nerves. In 2019, the year will welcome fans with its much awaited Aquaman solo movie releasing on December 2018 followed by Shazam! On April next year. The trailers of Aquaman and Shazam! already had made hit on the internet surface. DC fans crazy over their new concepts of admiring market demands. Finally they have listened the need of fans. Instead of introducing characters directly to the team-up movie, DCEU is looking to cover the solos first. And that’s needed.
