Warje-Malwadi police seize 3 pistols, 10 live cartridges

Sleuths from Warje-Malwadi police station have nabbed a historysheeter and claimed to have recovered three pistols and 10 live cartridges from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Nilkanth Suryakant Raut (38), a resident of Nigdi.

Acting on tip-off received by Police Naik Ashish Botke, a detection branch team laid a trap outside Amrapali Hotel in Warje and arrested Raut in the wee hours of Friday.

According to police, there are several cases of burglary, vehicle thefts etc registered against him in the past. A magistrate court has remanded him to police custody till Monday.

Investigation team included inspector (crime) Prakash Khandekar, Sitaram Dhawde, ASI Jagannath Gore, and policemen Maggi Jadhav, Amol Katkar, Arun Kite, Vijay Kamble, Nitin Jagdale, Tejas Pawar, Sandip Shelke, and Sachin Dhotre.
